DETAILS OF OUR NEXT BRANCH (ZOOM) MEETINGS
All online meetings are open to all, no charge:
A full list of Zoom meetings and other online events can be found here. These are open to members and non-members alike. All welcome. No charge.
Due to Covid all meeting will now be held on Zoom.
Our venue would normally be The Garden Room, Unitarian Chapel, East Bond Street, Leicester, LE1 4SX. There is a limited amount of onsite parking but there is nearby public car parking-look for the signs for the Highcross Centre Car Park. We are close also to the St Margaret’s Bus and Coach Station. Lunch can be obtained at a number of places in the Highcross shopping centre just a few paces from the Garden Room.
The East Midlands Branch of the Elgar Society seeks to meet the needs of those interested in the life and music of Edward Elgar and welcomes everyone, regardless of where they live. Those living in Derbyshire, Leicestershire, Lincolnshire, Northamptonshire, Nottinghamshire, Rutland and Warwickshire are perhaps best placed to join us at our meetings. We offer an attractive programme, complemented, for those making a full day trip to Leicester, by interesting places to visit, not least the Richard III Visitor Centre, the nearby Bosworth Battlefield site close to the attractive village of Market Bosworth and the national Space Centre.
We have a loyal and committed nucleus of supporters who travel from as far as Coventry, Northampton, Nottingham, Rutland and Lincolnshire to enjoy the talks delivered by notable speakers and, on occasions, live music.
All meetings are held on Saturdays at 2.00pm unless stated otherwise. Everyone is welcome, with free admission of course, and there is usually an interval for light refreshments.
